Welcome to BetterVRCX. By downloading, accessing, or using the BetterVRCX desktop application or this website (bettervrcx.awakenginexe.com), you agree to these Terms of Service.

1. Open-Source Software License

BetterVRCX is a free, open-source software project maintained by awakenginexe. The software source code is licensed under the MIT License. Your rights to inspect, modify, fork, and distribute the source code are governed by the license terms located in the BetterVRCX GitHub repository.

2. "AS IS" Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

BetterVRCX is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the authors, contributors, and maintainers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, BetterVRCX.

3. Third-Party Services and APIs

BetterVRCX is designed to interact with third-party platforms and services:

• VRChat: BetterVRCX is an unofficial companion tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with VRChat Inc. Your use of VRChat features remains governed by VRChat's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
• Google Drive: The optional cloud backup integration utilizes Google APIs. Your use of Google Drive is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
• GitHub: Application updates and repository hosting are provided via GitHub, subject to GitHub's Terms of Service.

4. Google Drive Backup & User Responsibilities

The Google Drive Backup feature is an entirely optional tool provided for your convenience. If you choose to enable it:

• You are solely responsible for maintaining the security and confidentiality of your Google Account and local device.
• You are responsible for ensuring sufficient available storage within your personal Google Drive account.
• You are encouraged to maintain independent local backups of critical data. BetterVRCX maintainers cannot recover lost Google accounts or corrupted cloud files.
• You may disconnect or revoke Google Drive permissions at any time via BetterVRCX settings or your Google Account Security dashboard.

5. Modifications and Feature Lifecycle

As an active open-source project, BetterVRCX may be updated, modified, refactored, or have features discontinued at any time without prior notice.

6. Trademarks and Non-Affiliation

"VRChat" is a registered trademark of VRChat Inc. "Google", "Google Drive", and associated marks are trademarks of Google LLC. All product names, logos, and brands referenced on this site and within the application are property of their respective owners. Their use does not imply any affiliation with, sponsorship by, or endorsement of BetterVRCX.

7. Governing Law and Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
